Every year, I search for new Classical, Jazz, and New Age music to add to the OtherSide library for the Holiday Special. For the last few years, this has consisted of 60 continuous hours of music. When I added new music to the library this year, it turned out there was more than 60 hours in the collection—everything wouldn’t have played even once during the special.
One solution: add time! Welcome to Noel 90 — 90 continuous hours of seasonal Classical, Jazz, and New Age music. Noel 90 starts on Monday, December 22 at 12 noon Mountain Time and runs through 6 a.m. on December 26.
What hasn’t changed is the music mix. This is the exceptional time of year when The Other Side leans more traditional than eclectic. Classical and choral Christmas music make up a large portion of Noel 90, followed by traditional jazz tracks. But you’ll still get your “unpredictable” fix with what I roll into a category called “New Age” music of the season — everything from Mannheim Steamroller to Katie Pruitt to Lindsey Stirling to Calexico to Kylie Minogue.
How to listen? The pop-up player at the top of this page works great. You can also listen via the Live365 and TuneIn apps. If you haven’t already, try the 256K AAC stream on the How to Listen page to fill your earbuds, headphones, living room, or car with the most pristine audio for the most carefully recorded music of the season.
Enjoy Noel 90!
